Glass Bending Technology
Thermal glass bending for demanding marine applications
Thermal glass bending makes it possible to shape glass into a specific curve and geometry. The process must be carried out under controlled conditions so that the glass panel acquires the required shape without unwanted distortion.
The success of the construction depends on the correct combination of design, templates, moulds, temperature, processing time and controlled cooling. The accuracy of the initial project measurements
is equally important.

Accurate measurement is a fundamental stage in the manufacturing of curved glass. Measuring only the height and width is not enough. The curvature, angles, available clearance, edges and the points at
which the glass will be supported or bonded must also be recorded.
When an existing glass panel is available, it can be used as a measurement reference only when it has not been distorted and accurately represents the original geometry. Otherwise, a new template must be created or the construction must be measured directly on site.

Installation and sealing of curved marine windows
A correctly manufactured curved glass panel must be installed without being forced into an incorrect position or a distorted frame. The fitting must remain uniform around the entire perimeter
while maintaining the required installation clearance.
Adhesives, primers and sealing materials are selected according to the glass type, frame material and technical requirements of the construction.
